Krill are small crustaceans that are found in huge swarms, especially in the Antarctic. They are at the bottom of the food chain, feed on plant plankton and are therefore not contaminated with heavy metals or pesticides like most fish. Krill oil is extracted from this small species of crustacean.
Omega-3 fatty acids are a special group of unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for humans but cannot be produced by the body.
